Event WiFi across Wales, for events from 200 to 20,000+ guests

Temporary high-capacity wireless for agricultural shows, festivals, weddings on farms, conferences and pop-up venues across Wales. Our event portfolio includes the Aberdyfi Soap Box Racing Charity Event, Heart of Wales 7s, and Brecon County Show. From 200 guests to 20,000+, we plan it, install it, support it on the day, and pack it down afterwards.

From 200 guests to 20,000+

Different events, very different requirements

A wedding marquee needs a couple of access points and a payment terminal. A county show needs high-density coverage, a dedicated payments network for dozens of traders, and connectivity that cannot drop during the busiest hour of the day. Whether it is 200 people or 20,000+, the principles are the same: survey the site properly, size the kit honestly, and have an engineer on hand if it matters.

We start with a site visit for anything larger than a single marquee. Mobile signal, line of sight for satellite if needed, available power, what the guests, traders and organisers will actually need online. Then we size the kit: access point density for the headcount, the right backhaul, segregated VLANs for traders and payments, and on-site support where it matters.

Reliable connectivity for the things that can't drop out

Guest WiFi is one thing. Card machines, ticket scanners and gate access control are another — if those drop, the event stops making money or people queue at the gate. We put traders and payment terminals on a separate, prioritised network from general guest WiFi, so a busy crowd streaming video does not take down the till.

Rural and remote sites across Wales

Showgrounds, farms and hillside venues rarely have strong fixed broadband or reliable mobile signal on site. Where the venue has a fast fixed line we use it. Where it does not, we bring a 4G or 5G uplink (often two routers for redundancy) or portable satellite connectivity for genuinely remote sites, with generator power where needed.

Built for the busiest moment of the day

Access point density is planned against expected attendance and peak load, not just an average headcount — the moment that matters is the busiest hour, not the quiet ones. Pricing depends on event size, duration and complexity, and is quoted per event once we understand what you are running.

  • Site survey first for anything larger than a marquee
  • Uplink to suit: 4G, 5G, fixed line or portable satellite connectivity
  • Access point density planned against expected attendance
  • Segregated VLANs for traders and card payments
  • Captive portal and guest network with rate-limiting if needed
  • On-site support for the duration where the event needs it

Event WiFi FAQ

What organisers ask about temporary WiFi

How far in advance should we book?

Weddings and small events: 4 to 6 weeks. Shows, festivals and conferences: 3 months ideally, so we can survey the site and confirm uplink options. Last-minute jobs handled where we can.

What if the site has no mobile signal?

Portable satellite connectivity, generator power, ready in 20 minutes. We have used this for shows where the venue has zero conventional connectivity.

Can you handle cashless payments on site?

Yes. Segregated payments VLAN, prioritised over guest traffic. For payment-critical events we always bring redundant uplinks.

What is the support model?

Engineer on site for major events, on-call remote for smaller ones. We agree the level at quote.

Can you cover a large showground or multi-stage site?

Yes. Access point placement and backhaul are planned against the site map and expected footfall in each area, not just a single blanket signal — a main arena, a trade row and a car park all get sized differently.

Can you keep ticket scanners and access control online during busy periods?

Yes. Gate scanners and access control sit on the same prioritised network as payment terminals, separate from general guest WiFi, so a crowd arriving at once does not affect entry.

Do you pack down too?

Yes. Same day, next day, or staged depending on the event. Pricing covers the full bracket.

Do you cover connectivity outside of events too?

Yes. The same bonded 4G and satellite kit we use for events also covers construction sites, temporary offices, pop-up retail, film and TV production, and emergency backup connectivity. See our Temporary Connectivity hub for the full range.
