Why move to VoIP at home

Your existing phone, your existing number, ready for 2027

The copper phone network closes in January 2027. Every traditional UK landline will stop carrying calls. The simplest move is a digital home phone. A small adapter sits between your existing handset and your broadband router, and you carry on as before.

You do not need a new phone. Your existing handset plugs into a small ATA adapter that we include with the install. The number you have had for years comes across with you in most cases, for a one-off £9.99 porting fee that covers what the network charges us to move it. If you don't need to keep your old number, we'll set you up with a free UK geographic number instead — no fee at all. Want something easier to remember? A memorable number is available as an optional extra from £3/mo.

Two plans, both inclusive of VAT. £7.99/mo on Pay As You Go where standard call rates apply per call. £9.99/mo with 1,000 inclusive minutes to UK landlines and mobiles. See our full call rates for everything outside the bundle.

When your broadband goes down, the phone goes with it. We can set up automatic call forwarding to your mobile so you do not miss incoming calls during an outage.

Home VoIP FAQ

What people ask about home VoIP

Can I keep my number?

Yes in most cases. There's a one-off £9.99 porting fee, which covers what the network charges us to move your number across. If you're happy with a new number instead, we'll set you up with a free UK geographic number at no extra cost, and porting takes 1 to 2 weeks with us handling the paperwork.

Do I need to be a Cader Networks broadband customer?

No. Home VoIP works over any broadband connection, from any provider, anywhere in the UK. You don't need to be one of our broadband customers to take VoIP from us.

Is this the cheapest home VoIP in the UK?

Not always — some providers undercut us on certain plans, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we offer is straightforward, fairly priced home VoIP with no contract tie-in, no hidden fees beyond the one-off porting charge, and a real local team who pick up the phone. If price is your only concern, it's worth comparing; if you want it done properly, that's us.

What happens when broadband drops?

VoIP needs an internet connection, so the phone goes with it during an outage. We can set up automatic call divert to your mobile so calls still reach you.

Do I need a new phone?

No. Your existing handset plugs into a small ATA adapter we include with the install. If you would prefer a new phone, we supply Yealink handsets from £49.99 + VAT.

Why move now and not closer to 2027?

Porting gets busier as the deadline approaches. Switching now means a calm, planned migration with no last-minute panic, and you start saving on line rental immediately.

Are calls inclusive of VAT?

Yes. Published rates for home VoIP (5p/min UK landline, 7p/min UK mobile, freephone and emergency calls free) are all inclusive of VAT. See our full call rates.
