Satellite broadband, installed by an engineer
Starlink is satellite broadband operated by SpaceX. For properties where neither fibre nor 4G delivers usable speeds, it often does. We survey the site, install the dish properly, run the cable through the building and tune the network.
This is consultation-led work. We would rather tell you Starlink is not the right call here than sell you a service that does not fit. Where it is the right call, we get on with it.
Kit and installation pricing
Starlink kit (dish, router, cables and stand): £299 inc VAT, purchased direct from Starlink. Ask us for a quote on installation. The price varies by site, access requirements and mount type. If you need connectivity before a permanent install is possible, we also offer short-term Starlink hire with no long-term commitment.
If your property may qualify for the Access Broadband Cymru grant, the grant can cover some or all of the cost of getting connected. We can check whether your address is likely to be eligible and give you a quote that fits around it.
What's included in a home installation
The install is not DIY-grade. Line-of-sight check for obstructions (trees, neighbouring buildings, terrain), mount the dish on a roof, gable or separate mast as needed, weatherproof entry through the wall, run the cable cleanly, set up the router, integrate with any existing network and tune the WiFi for the property. Initial setup and signal optimisation are included in the install.
If something needs adjusting after a few weeks of real use, get in touch and we will advise. Any return visit after the install is a chargeable call-out.

Common questions about Starlink installs
How long does an install take?
Survey is usually 30 minutes. The install itself is typically half a day. Complex sites with high masts, long cable runs or multiple buildings can take a full day.
Where do you mount the dish?
Wherever the satellite view is clearest and the cable run is manageable. Common locations are the roof peak, gable end, or a separate mast. We suggest options after the survey.
What if trees are blocking the view?
We use the Starlink app's obstruction check during the survey. If trees are in the way we suggest a mast or a different mount point that clears the view. Better to find out before the install than after.
Does it work in heavy Welsh weather?
Yes. Heavy rain and snow can briefly degrade signal, but the dish is designed for it. The bigger weather problem is wind on poorly-mounted dishes. Ours are mounted to spec.
Do you supply the Starlink kit?
The kit (dish, router, cables and stand) costs £299 inc VAT and is purchased direct from Starlink. We handle the installation. Ask us for a quote on that, as the price depends on the site and mount type. Keeping the hardware purchase direct with Starlink keeps your warranty straight with them.
