Home FAQ

What home customers ask us most

What is the difference between FTTP, FTTC and 4G broadband?

FTTP (full fibre) runs fibre all the way to your house. Fastest, most reliable. FTTC runs fibre to the street cabinet, then copper into the house. Slower and drops off with distance from the cabinet. SOGEA is the same as FTTC but without the phone-line rental. 4G fixed wireless uses a router with a SIM card on a mobile network. Where fibre is not viable, 4G often is.

Do I need to change phone provider when I move home broadband?

Not necessarily, but if you have a copper landline you will need to move to digital phone (VoIP) by January 2027 anyway. We usually bundle the broadband change with a phone-line move so it is done in one go.

How quickly can you install?

Full fibre: typically 1 to 3 weeks depending on engineer availability. 4G fixed wireless: usually within a week. Starlink: 2 to 4 weeks from order including the survey and install.

How does the coverage check work?

Put your postcode into our broadband and signal checker. It pulls live availability from the UK's major fibre wholesale networks, plus carrier coverage data for 4G. We get a realistic picture of what is possible at your address before we quote.
