On-location connectivity for film and TV production across Wales

Unit base internet, video village feeds, editorial and dailies upload. Wales has some of the UK's most filmed and most remote locations in the same county, often within the same day's schedule, and we build connectivity around whichever one you are shooting in.

Built around the shoot

Connectivity that fits the schedule, not the other way round

A production does not get to wait weeks for a fixed line, and a remote Welsh location often does not have one to wait for anyway. Bonded multi-network 4G and satellite connectivity go where the schedule takes you.

Unit base and production office

Production office admin, scheduling, and general crew connectivity for the unit base. Sized to the number of departments working out of it on a given day.

Video village and editorial transfer

Monitor feeds and the sustained upload that dailies and editorial transfers need are a different load to general office use, and we plan capacity with that in mind rather than treating it as an afterthought.

Genuinely remote Welsh locations

Coastal cliffs, mountain locations, forestry and valley sites can sit well outside useful mobile coverage. Where that is the case we bring satellite connectivity in as the primary link rather than hoping a weak 4G signal holds up.

Film & TV Production FAQ

What people ask about on-location connectivity

Can you handle large upload volumes for dailies?

Bonded multi-network 4G pools bandwidth across carriers, which helps with the kind of sustained upload that dailies and editorial transfers need. For very large volumes on remote sites, we plan capacity around what you need to move and by when.

Do you work with remote Welsh filming locations that have no signal?

Yes. Wales has plenty of locations, coastal, mountain and valley, that sit outside useful mobile coverage. Where that is the case we bring in satellite connectivity instead, which does not depend on nearby masts.

How much notice do you need?

The more notice the better, particularly for genuinely remote locations that need a proper site survey. For unit bases in more accessible areas we can often turn things around faster.

Can the kit stay out of shot?

Yes. Discreet placement is a normal requirement on a shoot and we work with the location or production team to keep equipment out of camera and out of the way of the crew.

Does this scale up for a full unit base, not just a small crew?

Yes. We size the connection to the number of departments and devices that need to be online, from a small documentary crew through to a full unit base with video village, editorial and production office all connected.
